Christopher Chace Crawford, born on July 18, 1985, is an American actor. He’s famous for playing Nate Archibald on the TV show “Gossip Girl” (2007-2012) and The Deep in “The Boys” (2019-present). He has also starred in movies like “The Covenant” (2006), “The Haunting of Molly Hartley” (2008), “Twelve” (2010), and “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” (2012). In 2015, he played Billy LeFever in the short-lived TV series “Blood & Oil.”

Crawford was born in Lubbock, Texas. His dad, Chris, is a skin doctor, and his mom, Dana, is a teacher. He has a younger sister, Candice, who won Miss Missouri USA and competed in Miss USA. He grew up as a Southern Baptist. The family lived in Bloomington, Minnesota, for four years while his dad was in medical school, and then they moved back to Texas, settling in Plano, near Dallas.

In high school, Crawford worked at an Abercrombie & Fitch store and modeled for Hollister. He graduated from Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, Texas, in 2003. He went to Pepperdine University to study broadcast journalism and marketing but dropped out after a few semesters to pursue acting. During this time, he worked as a car valet to support himself.

Crawford started his acting career in 2006, appearing in the supernatural horror-thriller “The Covenant” as Tyler Simms. In March 2007, he got the role of Nate Archibald on “Gossip Girl,” which was his TV debut. In 2008, he acted in the crime-thriller “Loaded” and starred in the horror film “The Haunting of Molly Hartley.” In 2009, he appeared in Leona Lewis’s music video for her song “I Will Be” and was named “Summer’s Hottest Bachelor” by People magazine.

Crawford also did a public service announcement for Do Something’s Teens for Jeans campaign. In 2010, he starred as White Mike, a drug dealer, in the film “Twelve,” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. He was initially set to play the lead in the “Footloose” remake but eventually dropped out.

In 2011, Crawford acted in “Peace, Love & Misunderstanding” with Jane Fonda and Catherine Keener. In 2012, he starred in “What to Expect When You’re Expecting,” playing Marco in one of the film’s stories.

From 2013 onwards, Crawford took on various roles in films and TV shows. In 2014, he guest-starred in the 100th episode of “Glee” as Biff McIntosh. He also played the lead in the comedy “Mountain Men” and the psychological thriller “Eloise.” In 2015, he starred in ABC’s “Blood & Oil,” which was canceled after 10 episodes.

In 2016, he played Arthur Barone in the sports comedy-drama “Undrafted” and had a minor role in “Rules Don’t Apply.” He also starred in “I Do…Until I Don’t” and participated in a live reading of “College Republicans.” In 2017, he joined the comedy show “Casual” and starred in “Riptide” and “All About Nina.”

In 2018, Crawford was cast as Kevin Moskowitz/The Deep in “The Boys,” which has been renewed for a fourth season. He also appeared in the Charles Manson biopic “Charlie Says” and the thriller “Inheritance.” In 2021, he starred in the comedy “Reunion” and did a cameo on “Saturday Night Live.” In 2022, he voiced a character in the English version of the anime “Belle” and started developing a football drama with Tony Romo for Showtime.

Crawford lived with his “Gossip Girl” co-star Ed Westwick in Manhattan until 2009. In 2010, he was arrested for marijuana possession in Texas and completed probation and community service in 2011. His brother-in-law is former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. Crawford practices Transcendental Meditation, which he finds very calming.
