Eliane UMUHIRE is an actress from Rwanda who now lives in France. She has won awards for her acting. Her work focuses on identity, memory, and strength. Eliane’s films have been shown at big international festivals. She’s known for her role in the Polish movie Birds Are Singing in Kigali. Eliane has won Best Actress awards at many festivals, including the Chicago International Film Festival and the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

Recently, Eliane has worked on projects like Baloji’s Omen, which won an award at the Cannes Film Festival. She was also in Saul Williams’ Neptune Frost, shown at the Directors’ Fortnight. You can also see her in the Netflix film Trees of Peace and the BAFTA-nominated short film Bazigaga. Eliane is also on TV, in a series called Haven of Grace on Arte.
