Fred Hechinger is an American actor. He started acting in movies like “Eighth Grade” (2018), “News of the World” (2020), and “The Woman in the Window” (2021). In 2021, he was in “The Fear Street Trilogy” and the show “The White Lotus.” He played Seth Warshavsky in “Pam & Tommy” (2022).
He was born in New York City to Sarah Rozen and Paul Hechinger. His grandfather was Fred M. Hechinger, an editor at The New York Times. He grew up on the Upper West Side and went to Saint Ann’s School with actors Lucas Hedges and Maya Hawke. Hechinger was a teen reporter and studied at Upright Citizens Brigade. He is Jewish.
In 2018, Hechinger acted in “Eighth Grade.” The next year, he was in “Human Capital.” In 2020, he starred in “News of the World” with Tom Hanks.
In 2021, he acted in “The Woman in the Window” with Amy Adams and “The Fear Street Trilogy” on Netflix. His big role that year was in HBO’s “The White Lotus.”
