Gloria Elizabeth Reuben was born on June 9, 1964, and she is both Canadian and American. She is famous for acting, producing, and singing. You might know her best from her role as Jeanie Boulet on the TV show ER from 1995 to 1999 and in 2008. She’s also acted in movies like Lincoln in 2012.
In addition to her acting career, she has appeared in films such as Timecop (1994), Nick of Time (1995), Admission (2013), and Reasonable Doubt (2014). She was also in TV shows like Mr. Robot (2015–2019) and City on a Hill (2019-2021), and played a role in Cloak & Dagger from 2018 to 2019.
Gloria was born in Toronto, Canada, to parents who were both Jamaican. Her father was Jewish and her mother was mostly of African descent. She grew up with six siblings, but tragically lost two brothers. Gloria learned piano as a child and studied music and dance.
She began her career as an actress after doing some modeling and TV commercials. Her big break came with ER, where she played a character named Jeanie Boulet. This role made her well-known and also inspired her to become an advocate for HIV/AIDS awareness.
Outside of acting, Gloria has performed on stage, sang backup for Tina Turner, and released several jazz albums. She’s also written a memoir called “My Brothers’ Keeper,” which talks about her life and the loss of her brothers.
