Jitendra Joshi is an actor and TV host from India who mostly acts in Marathi movies. He became famous for playing Sant Tukaram Maharaj in the Marathi film “Tukaram” in 2012. You might also recognize him as constable Katekar from the popular Netflix series “Sacred Games.”

Joshi was born on January 27, 1979, in Pune, Maharashtra. He grew up in a Marwari family.

Joshi is not only an actor but also a songwriter. He wrote the hit song “Kombadi Palali,” which later became “Chikni Chameli.” He first became known for his role as Krishna in the Zee Marathi show “Ghadlay Bighadlay.” In 2011, he hosted a talent show called “Marathi Paaul Padte Pudhe” on Zee Marathi.

In movies, Joshi played Sant Tukaram in “Tukaram” and had a funny role in “Guldasta.” He also played a villain named Sai in “Duniyadari.” In 2016, he was part of the well-received movie “Ventilator,” produced by Priyanka Chopra. His acting in this film was praised a lot. He’s also known for his role in “Sacred Games” on Netflix.

In 2021, Joshi won the Best Actor Award at the 52nd International Film Festival of India for his part in the Marathi film “Godavari,” directed by Nikhil Mahajan.

He was also great as a sneaky villager in Netflix’s “Thar” in 2022.
