Omar Hashim Epps is an American actor, rapper, and producer. He has won many awards for his acting, including NAACP Image Awards, Teen Choice Awards, MTV Movie Award, Black Reel Award, and Screen Actors Guild Award. Some of his famous movies are Juice, Higher Learning, The Wood, In Too Deep, and Love & Basketball. On TV, he’s known for roles like Dr. Dennis Gant on ER, J. Martin Bellamy in Resurrection, Dr. Eric Foreman on House, and Isaac Johnson in Shooter.
Omar Epps was born in Brooklyn, New York. His parents divorced when he was young, and he was raised by his mother, who was a school principal. He went to a special high school in New York City for talented students in the arts. Before acting, he was in a rap group called Wolfpack.
In his career, Epps started in films like Juice with Tupac Shakur and continued in movies like Scream 2 and Love & Basketball. He also appeared on the TV show ER and later on House. Recently, he starred in the Netflix movie Fatal Affair and will appear in the horror film The Deliverance.
Epps is married to Keisha Spivey and has children. He’s also known for his friendship with actor Marlon Wayans from their high school days. Epps wrote a book about his life called From Fatherless to Fatherhood and is involved with organizations working on anti-corruption laws in the US.
