Roshan Mathew is an Indian actor who mainly works in Malayalam, Hindi, and Tamil movies. He started his career by acting in various plays in Chennai and Mumbai. Some of these plays were directed by Rajit Kapoor and Faezeh Jalali.
Roshan got his first big role in the movie “Puthiya Niyamam” in 2016. After that, he appeared in movies like “Aanandam” (2016), “Koode” (2018), and “Moothon” (2019) in supporting roles. He won two SIIMA Awards for his work in “Koode” and “Moothon”. He became more popular for his lead roles in “Kappela” (2020) and “C U Soon” (2021). He has also acted in Hindi films like “Choked” (2020) and “Darlings” (2022).
Roshan is from Changanassery, Kottayam, Kerala. His father works in a bank, and his mother is a retired engineer. Roshan went to Kendriya Vidyalaya in Kottayam and then studied B.Sc Physics at Madras Christian College in Chennai. He dropped out of engineering college after one year to pursue acting at Drama School Mumbai.
Roshan started doing theatre in school. He joined a professional theatre group in Chennai during college and acted in various plays. In Mumbai, he was part of different theatre productions like “Given” and “The Glass Menagerie”. Roshan also directed a play called “A Very Normal Family”.
Roshan began acting on screen in a web series called “Tanlines”. His first film was “Puthiya Niyamam” in 2016. He gained fame with “Aanandam” and later appeared in movies like “Koode”, “Moothon”, and “Choked”. Recently, he starred in “Kappela”, “C U Soon”, and “Kuruthi”. He has upcoming projects like “Varthamanam” and his debut Tamil film “Cobra”.
