Russell Ira Crowe is an actor. He was born on 7 April 1964 in New Zealand. He lived in Australia for 10 years during his childhood and then moved there permanently when he was 21 years old. Russell has received many awards, including an Academy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and a British Academy Film Award. People think he’s one of the best actors in the 21st century.

Russell started acting in Australia and became famous for his role in the movie Romper Stomper in 1992. He got even more recognition for his roles in L.A. Confidential (1997) and The Insider (1999). Russell won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in Gladiator (2000). He also played important characters in A Beautiful Mind (2001), Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003), Cinderella Man (2005), and many other movies.

Apart from acting, Russell directed a movie called The Water Diviner in 2014. He is also the co-owner of the National Rugby League (NRL) team South Sydney Rabbitohs since 2006.

Russell was born in Wellington, New Zealand, to Jocelyn and John Crowe. His family moved to Australia when he was four years old, and he grew up in Sydney. Russell went to different schools in Australia and New Zealand but left school at 16 to pursue his acting career.

Before becoming an actor, Russell started his career as a musician in the early 1980s, using the stage name “Russ Le Roq.” He later formed a band called 30 Odd Foot of Grunts.

Russell has been involved in philanthropy. For example, during the filming of Cinderella Man, he made a donation to a Jewish school whose library was damaged by arson. He also donated money to a primary school in Australia for building a swimming pool.

In his personal life, Russell has been married to Danielle Spencer, an Australian singer. They have two sons, Charles Spencer Crowe and Tennyson Spencer Crowe. They got divorced in April 2018.
