John Marcus “Scoot” McNairy is an actor and film producer from America. He’s famous for being in movies like Monsters, Argo, and Gone Girl, as well as TV shows like Halt and Catch Fire and True Detective.

Early Life

Scoot McNairy was born on November 11, 1977, in Dallas, Texas. He grew up doing theater after school. His dad started calling him “Scooter” when he was little because he used to scoot around on his butt.

McNairy had a hard time with reading when he was young. He had to go to a special school because of dyslexia. He liked movies because he learned better by seeing things.

Career

McNairy went to the University of Texas at Austin when he was 18. He acted in a movie called Wrong Numbers, which won an award. He moved to Los Angeles to study filmmaking but dropped out to work on movie sets.

He started out doing small parts in movies like Wonderland and Herbie: Fully Loaded. In 2010, he starred in Monsters, which was a big deal. After that, he got more famous roles like in Argo and 12 Years a Slave.

He’s been in lots of movies and TV shows since then, like Batman v Superman and Narcos: Mexico.

Personal Life

Scoot McNairy got married to actress Whitney Able in 2010. They met while working on a movie together. They have two kids. They announced their divorce in 2019.
