Sophie Rois, born in 1961, is an actress from Austria who lives and works in Berlin. She has acted in movies like Three, 180°, and Enemy at the Gates, and has appeared on TV shows such as Polizeiruf 110 and Die kleine Monsterin (voice).
Sophie Rois was born on June 1, 1961, in Ottensheim, Austria. She studied acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna from 1983 to 1986.
Early in her career, Sophie Rois worked with director Christoph Schlingensief.
In Berlin, Rois performed at Volksbühne from 1993 to 2017, and at Deutsches Theater from 2018 to 2022. She returned to Volksbühne in 2022.
In 2014, she played Margarete Himmler in the documentary The Decent One.
During the Berlinale on February 10, 2014, Sophie Rois was honored with the first grade of the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres at the French Embassy in Berlin. In 2017, she accepted an invitation to join Berlin’s Academy of Arts.
