Timothy L. McInnerny is an actor from England. He’s famous for acting in plays and on TV. One of his well-known roles was as Lord Percy Percy and Captain Darling in the British comedy show Blackadder during the 1980s.
McInnerny was born on September 18, 1956, in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire. His parents were Mary Joan and William Ronald McInnerny. He grew up in Cheadle Hulme and Stroud, Gloucestershire. He went to Marling School in Stroud and later studied English at Wadham College, Oxford. He started college in 1976 after taking a year off to travel around the world.
On TV, McInnerny first appeared in Blackadder in the 1980s. He played Lord Percy Percy in the first two series and returned for the fourth series as Captain Kevin Darling. He had a notable role in the BBC series Edge of Darkness in 1985. More recently, he’s been in Law & Order: UK (2011) and New Tricks (2012). He also joined the cast of Game of Thrones in Season 6 as Lord Robett Glover in 2016.
In 2007, McInnerny talked openly about his appreciation for ITV sitcoms, despite some criticism. He mentioned shows like Mind Your Language and Love Thy Neighbour as examples of great sitcom writing from that era, even though their content might not be well received today.
