Thomas Butler, born on February 1, 1951, is a Canadian actor who has worked in television and films.

He is most famous for his role on the TV show Sliders, where he played Michael Mallory, the father of Quinn Mallory in the first episode. He later returned to play the same character in another episode during the show’s second season. In addition to Sliders, Butler appeared in a TV movie called Hostage Rescue Team in 2001, where he portrayed Special Agent David Nelson.

Butler’s acting career also includes roles in several movies. Some of his notable films are Renegades (1989), Ernest Rides Again (1993), First Target (2000), Freddy vs. Jason (2003), Everything Gone Green (2006), Sonic the Hedgehog (2020), and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022). He is also scheduled to appear in the upcoming movie Sonic the Hedgehog 3, set to release in 2024.

On television, Butler has made appearances in various shows over the years. He was seen in Highlander: The Series, The Commish, The Outer Limits, Stargate SG-1, Smallville, Check It Out!, The Secret Circle, The Killing, and had a recurring role on Gracepoint. In 2013, he played Jim Myers in the series Supernatural, appearing in nine seasons. Additionally, he starred in Autumn in the Vineyard, a film for the Hallmark Channel, in 2016.
