Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is America’s new big monster movie. Adam Wingard directed it, which followed the movie Godzilla vs. Kong in 2021. This new movie is part of the MonsterVerse, which is a series of films about giant monsters.

Development of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire
In March 2019, the people making the MonsterVerse movies said they wanted to make more if the ones they were making did well. They liked each movie to be great. They were focused on Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Godzilla vs. Kong then. In February 2021, someone involved in making the movies talked about where they could go next with the MonsterVerse. They said the MonsterVerse was created to lead up to Godzilla vs. Kong, but it was up to the audience to show they wanted more movies.
Godzilla vs. Kong came out in March 2021 and did well in theaters and streaming, even during the pandemic. It made more money than needed, and many people watched it, even through illegal sources. The people in charge said they had ideas for more movies after it did so well. People on Twitter also started a hashtag to support making more MonsterVerse movies, and some essential people showed they wanted more, too. In April, there were talks about making more movies in the series, with discussions about the director returning and ideas for new movies like “Son of Kong.”
Because Godzilla x Kong was a hit, a writer said more interesting movies would come. In March 2022, they announced they’d start filming a sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong in Australia later. They said the previous movie’s director would return and announced an actor joining the cast. The movie had a working title of “Origins.” Later, the people producing the movie were confirmed, and Toho, the company that owns Godzilla, said that Godzilla would be in the new movie.

In August 2022, they said Tom Holkenborg would make the music for the movie. He did this before for Godzilla vs. Kong. Then, in December 2023, they told Antonio Di Iorio that they would help Holkenborg make the music for the movie, too.

The movie will come out in theatres on April 12, 2024, but it was supposed to be out on March 15 before. In Japan, Toho will release it on April 26, 2024.
