Lew Rothman, Entertainment Executive at The Weinstein Co. and Strategy PR, Dies at 63

Lew Rothman

Lew Rothman was an experienced entertainment boss. He worked at companies like The Weinstein Co. and Strategy PR. Sadly, he passed away unexpectedly at his home in East Hampton, New York, at 63 years old.
People knew Rothman for being funny and understanding how Hollywood and technology could work together. In the 1990s, he and his wife, Serina Mayer, started a Vibemaster company. They wanted to make friends between entertainment and tech companies.
Rothman did extraordinary things, too! He helped make CASTNET, the first online casting company for commercials. Then, he became the tech boss at Atomic Pop, the first online record company. His wife and another music expert started that.
He joined The Weinstein Co. in 2006 and stayed there for over ten years as their tech boss. Later, in 2016, he went to Strategy PR/Consulting. He looked after the business side of things there.
Apart from work, Rothman loved making furniture and sculptures with his wife. He was also really into his dachshund, Bubu, who was his friend for 18 years.
He’s survived by his wife, daughter Raella, and his sisters, Barbara Kreiger and Cheryl Ann Krane. Services to remember him will happen on January 5.
