About A Quiet Place: Day One
A Quiet Place: Day One is a new scary movie set in a world after a disaster. It’s written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, who thought of the story with John Krasinski. This movie comes before the other films in the A Quiet Place series. It stars Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, and Alex Wolff, and Djimon Hounsou is back in his role from A Quiet Place Part II.

Premise of A Quiet Place: Day One
Before the first movie starts, a woman named Sam has to stay alive during an attack in New York City by scary aliens who can hear ultrasonic sounds.

Production
Development
In November 2020, Paramount Pictures said they would make another movie like A Quiet Place (2018). This new movie would be connected to the same story. Jeff Nichols was chosen to write and direct it, based on a story by John Krasinski. The movie is a team effort between Platinum Dunes and Sunday Night Productions. Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, and Krasinski will produce it.
In May 2021, Krasinski said Nichols finished the script and gave it to the studio. But by October, Nichols decided not to direct the movie anymore because of creative differences. The studio started looking for a new director right away.
Then in January 2022, Michael Sarnoski was announced as the new writer and director for the movie.
Casting
In November 2022, it was reported that Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn were chosen for roles in the movie. Then, in January 2023, Alex Wolff joined the cast. Later in March, it was shared that Djimon Hounsou would be playing a character named “Henri,” which is the same character he played in A Quiet Place Part II (2020).
Filming
Filming started on February 6, 2023, in London, and finished on April 11.
Release
A Quiet Place: Day One will come out in the United States on June 28, 2024, from Paramount Pictures. Before this date, it was planned to be released on March 31, 2023, then changed to September 22, 2023, and later to March 8, 2024.
