Nightbitch is a new funny and scary movie from America. It was written and directed by Marielle Heller. The story comes from a book by Rachel Yoder from 2021. Amy Adams is the main actor. Other actors include Scoot McNairy, Arleigh Patrick Snowden, Emmett James Snowden, Zoë Chao, Mary Holland, Ella Thomas, Archana Rajan, and Jessica Harper.
Nightbitch will first show at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2024. After that, it will come out in the United States on December 6, 2024, by Searchlight Pictures.

Production
Development
In July 2020, Annapurna Pictures got the rights to make a movie based on a book called Nightbitch, which hadn’t been published yet. Rachel Yoder wrote the book. Amy Adams will star in the movie and help produce it. Stacy O’Neil from Adams’ production company will also produce it with Megan Ellison, Sue Naegle, and Sammy Scher. Yoder will be the executive producer. Marielle Heller, who directed Can You Ever Forgive Me?, liked Yoder’s book and started working on the movie with Adams quietly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pre-production
In March 2022, they planned to start filming in the fall of the same year. In May, Searchlight Pictures bought the rights to distribute the movie from Annapurna for $25 million. They beat five other companies who also wanted the rights. At that time, they confirmed that Heller would be involved in making the movie. Christina Oh, Adam Paulsen, and Heller joined as producers. Scher became an executive producer along with Havilah Brewster. On June 27, 2022, Scoot McNairy also joined the film.
Filming
Production was supposed to start in September 2022 in Los Angeles. But it actually started in October 2022. They announced that Ella Thomas joined the cast. Later, on October 21, 2022, Mary Holland also joined the cast.
Release
Nightbitch was supposed to come out on Hulu, but now it’s going to be shown in theaters by Searchlight Pictures on December 6, 2024. Before that, it will first be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2024.
