About Untitled Smile sequel
The next movie after “Smile” is coming soon. It’s called “Untitled Smile Sequel.” It’s a scary movie made in America. Parker Finn wrote and directed it. It’s the second part of the story from “Smile,” which came out in 2022. That movie was based on another film by Finn called “Laura Hasn’t Slept,” from 2020. Kyle Gallner is back as Joel from the first movie. Naomi Scott, Lukas Gage, and Rosemarie DeWitt are new characters. They started getting ready to make the movie in April 2023, and they filmed it from January to March in 2024.
You can watch it in theaters on October 18, 2024, thanks to Paramount Pictures.

Development and casting
After the first movie, Smile, came out in 2022, the writer and director, Parker Finn, talked about it in interviews. He said he purposely left parts of the story unclear and wants to explore them more in a possible next movie. He wants to keep the mystery of the main thing in the story. He thinks the next movie should be different from the first one, with new scary things and surprises for the audience.
In March 2023, Finn made a deal with Paramount Pictures to make more scary movies. Then, in April 2023, Paramount said they’re making a sequel to Smile, and Finn will write and direct it again. In December 2023, Naomi Scott got a big role in the movie. In early 2024, more actors like Lukas Gage, Rosemarie DeWitt, Dylan Gelula, Raúl Castillo, and Miles Gutierrez-Riley joined the cast. Kyle Gallner will also be back, playing Joel again, like in the first movie.
Filming of Untitled Smile sequel
Filming for the movie happened from January to March 2024 in different places in Hudson Valley, New York. They mainly filmed in Newburgh, Poughkeepsie, Wappingers Falls, Albany, and New York City.
Release of Untitled Smile sequel
The movie will come out on October 18, 2024, and it will be shown by Paramount Pictures.
