Joey Graziadei, on The Bachelor, talked about being diagnosed with Gilbert syndrome because fans were concerned about his “yellow eyes.”
In a video on Instagram, Graziadei, leading season 28 of the dating reality series, explained that he discovered the condition in high school. Gilbert Syndrome is a common and usually harmless liver condition where the liver doesn’t process bilirubin properly, making the skin and eyes slightly yellow. Graziadei assured fans that he is healthy.
He shared that when he was in high school and sick for about a week and a half, his mom took him to the doctor. The doctors found a high bilirubin count, which raised concerns about his liver. After various tests, they diagnosed him with Gilbert syndrome.
Graziadei mentioned that this condition gives his eyes a yellowish tint. He assured everyone that he is keeping an eye on his health and is committed to taking care of himself this year, focusing on staying hydrated and managing stress. He thanked everyone for their concern and said that he was doing okay as far as he knew.
