U2 just finished a series of concerts in Las Vegas, where they played their 1991 album “Achtung Baby” in total. They had special guests, like the album’s producer, Daniel Lanois, and they dedicated a song to their drummer, Larry Mullen Jr., who couldn’t perform due to health reasons.
The last show had famous attendees like Lenny Kravitz, Dave Grohl, and Brett Ratner. Bono, the lead singer, also dedicated a song to Jill Biden, who was in the audience. They closed the concert with their 1983 song “40.”
During the show, they did something special for Alexei Navalny’s widow, Yulia. They performed a new version of the Crowded House song “Don’t Dream It’s Over” to support her fight for a free Russia. Neil Finn from Crowded House helped with this particular rendition.
After these concerts, U2 plans to focus on making a rock-heavy album. The venue they played at, the Sphere in Las Vegas, will host other events like Dead & Company, Phish, and a film experience by Darren Aronofsky.
