“The Mandalorian & Grogu” will be the first Star Wars movie made since “Rise of Skywalker” in 2019.
Sci-fi icon Sigourney Weaver, known for battling aliens and other foes, is now in talks to join this Star Wars film. The movie will be directed by Jon Favreau, who created “The Mandalorian” series. Filming is expected to start later this year.
In “The Mandalorian,” Pedro Pascal plays Din Djarin, a warrior who takes care of Grogu (formerly known as Baby Yoda). The series has been a big hit on Disney+. Pascal will likely return for the movie, but details about his role are still unclear due to his busy schedule, including filming for Marvel’s “The Fantastic Four.”
Weaver is famous for her role in the “Alien” franchise and her tough character Ripley. She’s also known for her parts in “Ghostbusters.” Weaver’s involvement in the new Star Wars film was first reported by The InSneider newsletter.
