Vidaa Muyarchi (Persistence) is a new Indian Tamil-language movie written and directed by Magizh Thirumeni. It’s made by Subaskaran Allirajah and Lyca Productions. The film has famous actors like Ajith Kumar, Arjun Sarja, Trisha, Regina Cassandra, and Arav.
At first, Vignesh Shivan was supposed to direct the movie, but Magizh Thirumeni took over later. They told everyone about the film in May 2023, including the name. They started taking pictures in October 2023. Anirudh Ravichander made the music, Nirav Shah did the camera work, and N. B. Srikanth edited.

Production
Development
In March 2022, there was news that Vignesh Shivan would direct Ajith in his 62nd movie. Nayanthara was also said to be in the film, acting alongside Ajith for the fifth time. Anirudh Ravichander was going to make the music. On March 18, it was officially confirmed that Ajith, Vignesh, and Anirudh would work together on the movie. The producer, Subaskaran Allirajah from Lyca Productions, said it would be called AK62 for now. Ajith was reported to get ₹105 crore (US$13 million) for his role.
Then, in January 2023, there was news that Magizh Thirumeni would replace Vignesh as the director. Ajith didn’t like the script after it was developed. They had a special ceremony on February 21 in Chennai, but Ajith couldn’t make it. On Ajith’s birthday, May 1, 2023, the producers confirmed that Magizh would be the new director. They also announced the title ‘Vidaa Muyarchi’ and introduced the crew. Nirav Shah is the cinematographer, and N. B. Srikanth is the editor.
Casting
Before the change, Shihan Hussaini tweeted that he would be part of the movie but deleted it later. After the change, they told Arjun Das would play the bad guy. In September 2023, they confirmed that Trisha would be the leading female actor. This is her fifth time acting with Ajith after Ji (2005), Kireedam (2007), Mankatha (2011), and Yennai Arindhaal (2015).
In the same month, there was news that Ajith and Sanjay Dutt had a meeting in Dubai. People thought they might work together in the movie. Later, it was said that Sanjay Dutt would have a significant role in the film. Arav and Huma Qureshi, who had worked with Ajith in Valimai (2022), were also said to be part of the cast. They announced that Regina Cassandra would also be in the movie in early October. On December 14, they told Arav and Arjun Sarja would join the cast. This is a reunion for Arjun Sarja and Ajith after Mankatha.
Filming
The main filming for the movie started on October 4, 2023, in Azerbaijan. They were supposed to start in September, but it got delayed because Ajith was busy with his world tour. Some people didn’t like that they chose Azerbaijan for filming because the country was having problems with civil unrest, especially about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The plan for filming included an exciting car action scene with Ajith. Ajith took a short break in Chennai in late November and returned by December 4.
Music
Anirudh Ravichander does the music and background music for the movie. This is his first time working with Thirumeni and his third time working with Ajith. They previously collaborated on Vedalam (2015) and Vivegam (2017).
