Development
After Rahul Sadasivan’s movie ‘Bhoothakaalam’ came out in 2022, Producer Chakravarthy Ramachandra met him. They decided to work together on a new movie. They also teamed up with S. Sashikanth from YNOT Studios to start Night Shift Studios, a place just for making scary movies. Their first movie together is ‘Bramayugam.’
Rahul Sadasivan said the story is from Kerala’s old, spooky times. They’re planning to release the movie in five Indian languages at the same time. A writer named T. D. Ramakrishnan is also working on the dialogues for the film.
Casting
The team asked Mammootty to join in July 2022. They say he’s playing the ‘bad guy’ and will spend 30 days filming. Arjun Ashokan will be the ‘good guy’ and will be there for 60 days. They also mentioned Sidharth Bharathan and Amalda Liz as part of the cast when they started making the movie.
They picked Shehnad Jalal to handle the camera and Christo Xavier to make the music. Jothish Shankar helped design everything for the movie.
Filming
The filming started on August 17, 2023, which was the Kerala New Year. They began at MJI Studios in Kochi with a special ceremony and then moved to Ottapalam. Mammootty finished his part by September 16, and they finished all the filming by October 18, 2023.
